So I used this installation script that they recommended by the community. It seemed like Servarr was highly encouraging people to use the community installation script despite it being "unofficial". I'm sure there are better ways of doing it, but that's just how I did it. With the credentials being what you use for access to the share, and "noperm" allowing you to not need permission to read/write to it. The "//10.0.0.1/Share" is the location of your share, and the /media/share is where you're mounting it to. sudo mount -o noperm,credentials=/root/.creds //10.0.0.1/Share /media/share creds file I added the username and password:Īfter that I went ahead and mounted the share: To test this I then setup my SMB share first just to make sure it was working with Sonarr. After some research it looked like I was needing the "noperm" attribute for the mount.
Originally I ran into an issue with Sonarr not having proper access to my SMB share. It was a pretty straightforward with just a few commands, not much to really explain here. (I tried with them and it caused an error.) I then followed those instructions, skipping the optional Mono and MediaInfo dependencies.

To do this I went to the Sonarr website download section under linux. I'm also using Deluge with NordVPN as a proxy. I'm running Ubuntu 22.04 in a VM on ESXi and I mounted a SMB share from FreeNAS to both the 'arr' VM that has the stack on it and my 'Jellyfin' VM. Everyone was incredibly helpful so I thought I'd pass it on and offer up what I've learned from my experiences there so that anyone in similar situations in the future might be able to have an easier time. This is just how I personally got things to work. In fact, I'm telling you now that I'm certain there are more secure and optimal configurations.
